Marblemedia And Atomic Cartoons Enter Development With Corus Entertainment’s Teletoon On Animated Series

TORONTO, CANADA  – Award-winning content creators, marblemedia and Atomic Cartoons, are in development with TELETOON on an animated comedy series titled Captain Cornelius’ Cartoon Lagoon.

The quirky series follows the weirdly irreverent and randomly wild submarine adventures of Captain Cornelius and his crew as they scour the lagoon floor for the best, and the worst, cartoons ever made! The series offers audiences different animation styles in an assortment of original shorts, clips and sketches.

“By presenting various animation styles, the series gives audiences the opportunity to interact with their favourite cartoons in new and exciting ways,” said Matt Hornburg, Co-CEO and Executive Producer, marblemedia. “We look forward to working with our partners to discover and cultivate new talent in Canada’s rich animation community.”

To accomplish this feat, marblemedia teamed up with fellow Canadian animation powerhouse Atomic Cartoons, the creators behind the hit series Atomic Betty.

“Captain Cornelius’ Cartoon Lagoon is right in our animated kids’ comedy wheelhouse,” stated Rob Davies, Director of Development and company co-founder at Atomic Cartoons. “When our friends at marblemedia first approached us with the project we jumped at the opportunity to work with them. We simply couldn’t pass up the challenge of co-developing and co-producing something for Teletoon that’s outside of the normal cartoon box.”

The series will be co-produced by marblemedia and Atomic Cartoons with Robert Pincombe (Jimmy Two-Shoes, Beyblade) and Shelly Hoffman (Camp Lakebottom, Kid vs. Kat) acting as showrunners. The series is based on a web series by Pat-Man Studios, which is represented by Michael Goodman. Distribution will be handled by Distribution360.
