2D Compositor (After Effects)

Are you a 2D Compositing Artist looking for a new opportunity?  Our Vancouver studio is looking for 2D Compositors with experience in After Effects to join one of our current 2D Adobe Animate (Flash) adult animated series!

Atomic Cartoons Inc. is an award-winning animation studio with locations in Vancouver's Mt. Pleasant Animation District, Ottawa's Hintonburg neighborhood and Los Angeles. Since its inception 25 years ago, Atomic Cartoons has created and produced numerous 2D and CG animation productions including Princess Power and Last Kids on Earth. Atomic is well known for its artist-friendly culture and flexible work environment. We are always looking for artists of all levels to join our team!

WHAT YOU WILL DO:​

Composite shots in a team environment on a sequence of shots within a schedule.
Integrate all layers, BG, Animation, and FX for final Comp.
Troubleshoot to solve issues and to get desired final images.
Take direction from Supervisors and Leads.
Meet deadlines as assigned by Supervisors and Production.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Prior production experience as a Compositor using After Effects.
Prior compositing experience on a 2D Adobe Animate (Flash) production (series or feature).
A solid understanding of compositing, light, shadows and interactive lighting.
Able to work and communicate effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Experience with Autodesk Flow Production Tracking (FKA Shotgrid/Shotgun) is an asset.
Experience importing files from Adobe Animate into After Effects is an asset.
Must be currently legally able work in Canada.

Start Date: April 2024
– Applicants must have resided within BC as of December 31, 2023 and be able to provide the appropriate supporting documents.- All Atomic employees in this role have the opportunity to work remotely within BC, artists within Vancouver and the Lower Mainland can also choose hybrid and in-studio options. 
At Atomic Cartoons and Thunderbird Entertainment, we take into consideration a wide range of compensation factors including background, skills, location, and experience to determine competitive pay. In addition to competitive pay, this position is eligible for company-sponsored benefits including medical, GRSP, vacation pay, paid holiday break, paid leave, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Please note: This expected pay range is for British Columbia and is not applicable to locations outside of the province of British Columbia.
Wage ranges are based on a weekly rate.Vancouver Pay Range$900—$1,300 CAD
